8 years in (and still evolving)

Happy Sunday!

This month marks 8 years of being a business owner. When I started, I had no idea what this would become. I just knew I liked organizing things, helping people think ahead, and building structure where there wasn’t any.

What I didn’t know then was how much I would evolve in the process.

I've been thinking a lot about my future lately, especially as I watch my kids grow up right before my eyes.

I'm currently taking a data analytics course and slowly applying it to my work. I'm realizing how I've already been doing this work, but now I'm learning an official framework around it. I'm hoping to be done by summertime.

At some point, I'm planning to transition into an analytical or program-focused role and keep my consulting on the side. It feels much more aligned.

A Quick Word

Sponsorships starting in March

I'm also going to include a social media shoutout for an extra boost =).

When you stay with someitng for a long time, you start to see patterns.

  • You outgrow your current role
  • You refine what you want to do
  • You get super clear on where you want to spend your energy
  • You know what you're really good at

Right now, I’m leaning into infrastructure more than ever.

I recently built out a new Contractor Infrastructure Package because I’m seeing a huge gap: businesses are hiring contractors without clear documentation, communication standards, or continuity plans.

I’m also expanding what I bring inside the Lazy Systems Club. I added a yearly plan for $79 because I want it to be a low-pressure, long-term space for builders.

I’m planning monthly “In the Streets” discussions where we talk through real operational scenarios and/or things we see with our clients or talking to others through networking. It's pretty much a virtual version of the current roundtables I do.

I'm excited for the future version of myself.

Try This

  • Ask yourself: “If I keep doing exactly what I’m doing for the next 3 years, where does that realistically lead me?” This helps you decide if your current processes support your life direction.

System this supports: Long-term vision + career design systems

What I'm working on This Week

  • Finishing another module in my analytics course
  • Building out my data tracking systems in business & other tasks
  • Continuous spring prep for our home (out with the old, in with the new!)

One Thing for You

My son is taking a coding class through Outschool. If you have a child or teen who needs tutoring or wants to simply try something new, I highly recommend!

P.S. If you're on Linkedin or Alignable and found my content useful to your journey, I would love your recommendations and feedback!

Feedback/Comment of the week:
Someone asked me once was hurt not being hired by a company. I told them no because I trained the person they did hire.
As a business owner, some of us are just happy to help.

Your templates are amazing by the way!
