Back at 1 + other things

Happy Friday!

Did you think of Brian McKnight with the subject line? If not, just ignore me lol. This has been one of those weeks when I could not get ahead no matter how much I tried.

I set time to dive into new client work, but other things kept popping up. My son was having a tough morning one day, and it threw things off. I had death in the family that knocked me out of any social activity.... You catch my drift.

So yeah, it's been a week. However, no matter how chaotic my life gets, I've made sure to make it a mission to focus on doing at least one task that will support my business.

In this case, working on my "Power of 1" list. I pull one key goal from my Operational systems and break them down process-wise to see where I need to lean them out.

As you can tell from my email on Wednesday, I need A LOT of assistance, but I need to work more on the clarity piece before bringing someone on.

If you're wondering about what my "Power of 1 List looks like, here are some items directly from my list:

Marketing (Social Media)- Linkedin. In particular, my articles and weekly lives.

Marketing (In-person)- Attend 4 events a month

Core Offer- Systems Overhaul

Top of funnel: Lean Systems Guide

Lead Generator for Sales- Scalable Success Audit

That's all I feel like sharing for now. So what happens next is I map out the journey for these and see what I can automate, what will need to be delegated, etc.

Since I'm solo for now, I really want to make sure I'm not giving myself too much to do, and that's exactly what I was doing. Writing this newsletter helps me stay accountable and to practice what I preach.

If you're in the same boat as me, trying to work on your Power of 1 list, let me know! You can post about it in the Facebook group or just reply back!

This Week in My World

What I've listened to: It's been a lofi and R&B kind of week. I did listen to some of Ashley Kirkwood's podcast as well (Speak your way to cash)

A must-do for sanity: Canceled meetings that could be pushed to a later date. I haven't been super social this week, so I pushed a good bit of meetings to the side to regroup.

Something I've Learned/Picked Up: Writing my Staffing plan made me realize how much of my growth I was stunting. I encourage you to write yourself a plan as well! Even if you don't plan to hire

What I've been reading: It's been a tiring week, so I didn't read much. I plan to go to the library today and grab some new ones, though!

Who I've Met/Chatted with: I sat with Gwendolyn of Small Biz Bites on Tuesday. You can check out the conversation here.
