birthday month + lessons of the year

Happy Sunday!

It's my birthday month! I'll be 33 on the 28th, and I wanted to use this newsletter to share some of my lessons learned this past year. Before I do, here's a word from today's sponsor.

As I continue to truck along in my 30s, I make sure to continue to honor my goals I have set. Which is just me upleveling my life. My 20s were spent surviving. In my 30s, I wanted to be more settled and really figure out who the freak I am.

Last year (by this I count from my birthday 23-'24)- I got back into reading for fun, figured out what was wrong with my hormones, continued therapy, etc. On my birthday in '24, I told myself I wanted to be more consistent.

Believe it or not, I have a hard time sticking to things, especially when it seems like an option.

My personal upkeep for one. I wanted these things done, but if I don't build it into my schedule, it won't get done. That's when I started pre-scheduling my appointment. I do it for the dentist, why not my "specialty" appointments?

Once I started doing this, it made it easier to stick to. Now on the business side...

When I first started my business back in 2018, I knew getting in people's faces would help me grow faster. And it did- hence why I was able to shift to an agency model so quickly.

When COVID happened, it turned me back into a hermit, and I wasn't as engaged as I was before. I wanted to get back to being in the community because no matter how many ads are run, content is posted, etc., being "in the room" always wins.

Even though this wasn't really a "lesson", getting back in rooms proved itself to be helpful, and the impact has helped me translate it better online.

Another thing I've been working on is truly letting go of things that are draining. Which is why you don't really see me promote much of anything outside of my audits.

I've accepted I tend to do wwwaaaaaayyyyyyy too much and I've been leaning out what I could. Pretty much everything I talk about in the Lean Systems Guide, I'm doing myself currently.

I'm about to make this longer than needed, so I'll just share as the month continues. I will say I feel so much better about the direction I'm going in, what I need to do to officially sell The Lazy Millennial, and more.
