Being sick always reminds me that control is optional, but systems are not.
We weren’t at our best this week, but our routines kept things afloat enough that nothing fully unraveled.
When everyone’s sick, your capacity drops whether you want it to or not.
And I’ll be honest, my instinct is usually to compensate. To tighten control. To push through so nothing slips.
This week, I didn’t have the energy for that.
Instead, I leaned on what was already in place:
- meals I’ve been rotating- thank goodness for the crockpot!
- basic household rhythms
- work systems that don’t require constant supervision
Nothing ran perfectly. But it didn’t need to.
Work-wise, I kept things intentionally light and focused:
- I maintained 1–2 direct contacts a day for sales
- Visibility stayed consistent thanks to my LinkedIn coordinator
- I launched my local advisory circle online without overextending myself
Routines really come in handy here because it gives you the support you need, especially when you don’t have much to give.
