Last month, I was a part of an event where we asked ChatGPT questions, and experts (like myself) weighed in.
Many people in the room knew that AI works best with an expert and did not replace one. But it brought up another question.. What about the people who didn't know the right questions to ask?
AI can streamline, support, and accelerate your operations, but it can also spit out inaccurate, misleading, or harmful recommendations if you don’t know how to guide it.
I've seen it firsthand when using it to help me shape up some of my content. And this can immediately go from helpful to a disaster if you just take everything at face value with AI.
Using myself as an example, I have a custom GPT for Lazy Systems Club, my clients, and my team. Eventually, I plan to implement an AI agent. However, this is trained under my framework, and this is where the bigger problem lies when it comes to implementing AI in business.
What I've been seeing in the Operations space is that people will use AI to come up with ideas- which I do too- and have it come up with a plan. Nothing wrong here, but this is where confusion starts to happen. When you have AI generate a plan for you, it's still not "real" until you've created a process for it and tested it out.
And when you have AI, a man-made creation pulling information from the internet that may or may not be accurate, creating processes for you without you figuring out if it's something realistic or sustainable, you've already created a bottleneck without realizing it.
AI is an amazing supplement tool, but it shouldn't replace an expert who can guide you on how to use it the right way. And being honest, we don't need AI as much as we may think. We just need more clarity around Operations as a whole.
I'll end it here and ask: What’s the #1 thing you wish you understood better about using AI in your business?
