There are 3 gaps I've noticed that may be impacting your revenue.
1) Your delivery is all over the place
You find yourself extending projects or taking longer than necessary on calls because you never created a system for client delivery.
How to resolve: Start by timing your projects to see where you spend your time. This will allow you to break your projects apart and start building out repeatable processes (aka your system)
2) You Sound Like "Everyone."
If you can't explain your process, you're automatically grouped with the others in your industry. Then those comparison questions come up "R only charges $100, why does yours cost $500?"
Break down your process into steps and share that. You don't have to give internal processes, but your prospects should know the journey they are going on.
3) You're Constantly Reinventing the Wheel
If you are customizing every project, then we need to talk. No matter how unique you feel your work is, there are still some similar patterns within your projects. Your job is to identify what that is so you can create your system.
The difference is the details, not the whole foundation.
A combination of all of the above and the lack of documentation within these gaps causes leaks within the business, and you're stuck doing admin tasks when it could be spent on revenue-generating activities.
I'll leave your "homework" of the week below. Don't feel like you need to fix everything right now. Even the small fixes can create a huge result with your Operations =).
P.S. If you want to join a community that allows you to build your systems without feeling "shame", the Lazy Systems Club may be a good fit for you!
