What I learned about support

Happy Sunday!

I feel like I go back and forth on how to support businesses that genuinely need operational support while remembering that I'm running a business too.

So the bigger question I had to ask myself this week was, how do I keep things sustainable for myself as the business owner, while I still work on teaching as many people as I can about business operations?

For the businesses that are serious about growing via email

Since launching The Lazy Millennial in 2021, I’ve tried to start three different communities.
One even officially launched (anyone here from when I was promoting Journey to Laziness?), but I ended up closing it about six months later because I couldn’t keep up.

I refunded everyone who joined (which is why you don’t hear any bad stories about it 😉).

I wanted to keep up with how traditional memberships were run, so it looked like providing "more"... more resources, more ideas, more content. But it honestly went against what I teach businesses. So, of course, it flopped.

Businesses don't have a resource issue; they have a consistency issue. And I use the term issue loosely.

Trying to keep up with what others were offering made me lose sight of how operations truly work.

Operations thrive on implementation and continuation, not endless access to information.

So, I had to take a step back and rebuild around something that actually reflects how people grow best:

Sustainably. One process at a time.

When you join Lazy Systems Club, I won’t promise a vault full of resources.
Instead, I’ll give you what you need right now and help you build systems that stick.

The goal isn’t to keep you busy. It’s to help you stay consistent.

Growth is about applying what you already have and turning it into something sustainable. This aligns with what I've been teaching this year, and I plan to continue doing it next year.

If this sounds like your alley, I'd love to see you inside the club.

Something to think about this week

If you’re thinking about building your own community, or even just supporting your team better, ask yourself:

  • Am I offering more information than my people can act on?
  • Do I have a process in place to help them use what they already have?
  • How can I make things simpler?

Systems come from repetition. Are you keeping things sustainable?

What's Happening this Month?

  • The Holiday guide will be out next week!
  • I'm gearing towards down time and I've decided to turn the monthly webinar into a YouTube video instead. That will be up soon!

Feedback/Comment of the week:
Thank you for being so open about this. Starting a community is a challenge that I'm facing myself. And I've found the same things that you've discovered about implementing the available resources. The guidance that you suggest is perfect. Adriana Richardson
